Summer in Lake George officially has a kickoff weekend, and this is it. Memorial Day weekend 2026 (May 23–25) is when the Village wakes up, the patios open, and the lake feels like itself again. Whether you're driving up from the city, settling in at your cottage, or just looking for an excuse to be near the water, here's everything happening this weekend — and how to make the most of it.
Saturday, May 23: The Parade & Remembrance
The Lake George American Legion Memorial Day Parade steps off from West Brook Road at 11:30 a.m. and travels down Canada Street to Shepard Park, where a service at the Veterans Memorial follows. It's a small-town tradition done right — bring the family, grab a coffee from one of the cafés along the route, and stake out a spot by 11 a.m.
Later that afternoon, the Lake George Battlefield Park Alliance hosts a Memorial Day Remembrance for the four unknown soldiers at Battlefield Park on Fort George Road. It's quieter, more solemn, and worth the visit if you want a deeper sense of the history this region is built on.
All Weekend: FETE ADK '26 — The Lake George DJ Takeover
Running May 22–24 at the Fort William Henry Conference Center, FETE ADK is a multi-room dance music festival with main and auxiliary stages, indoor and outdoor setups, vendors, food, drinks, and after-parties. If your idea of kicking off summer involves bass instead of bagpipes, this is your weekend. Tickets are at allwedoisepic.com.
Patio Season Has Arrived
Adirondack Winery's Queensbury Tasting Room is throwing an Escape to Patio Season Party on Sunday, May 24 from 12–2 p.m. — tropical wines, grilled favorites, DJ Young Pete, live music, and patio vibes. Reserve at adkwinery.com.
Also worth a look: the Memorial Day Bash at Springbrook Hollow Farm Distillery on Saturday from 12–8 p.m., and Dueling Pianos at Adirondack Winery's Queensbury location Saturday night.
Bolton Landing & Beyond
Bolton's celebrating Memorial Day at Rogers Memorial Park on Lake Shore Drive — a great call if you want lake views without the Village crowds. Silver Bay YMCA is also hosting an epic Memorial Day weekend with hot air balloon rides, live music, and family activities.
Monday, May 25: Glens Falls Memorial Day Mile + Parade
If you're up early, the Glens Falls Memorial Day Mile is a fast, flat point-to-point race down Glen Street starting at 9:50 a.m. The Glens Falls/Queensbury Memorial Day Parade kicks off at 10:00 a.m. from Glen Street and heads north to Crandall Park for a ceremony at the Victory & Peace Monument.
A Few Pro Tips
Parking in the Village fills up by mid-morning Saturday. Get in early or use the lots up by Fort William Henry.
Most restaurants on Canada Street are open this weekend — reservations are smart, especially for dinner.
The lake is still cold (we're talking 50s). Save the swimming for late June. The views, however, are free year-round.
Watch the weather. Memorial Day weekend can swing from 75 and sunny to a chilly drizzle. Layers win.
Welcome to summer. The next four months are going to be a lot of fun.
